Certificate Numbers
A Student's lifecycle on a Training Course has already been covered in this guide - Administering a Course. This little guide adds some supporting information concerning certificate numbers
Unique Certificate Number Upon Enrolment
When an attendee is enrolled in a Course, they are automatically assigned a unique certificate number. This can be found on an attendee record in the 'Certificate Details' section.
This number is assigned to an Attendee upon enrolment though is obviously not issued to the Student until such a time as they are deemed competent by a trainer. It will ultimately end up on a Student's certificate (should it be issued).
If a Student does not complete a Course, or cancels their enrolment, the number will never be issued.
Searching a Certificate Number
The assigned certificate number is searchable within Salesforce. If a student provides it, you can use the Salesforce search bar to locate it.
The search results will show the Attendee record containing the certificate number.
The Attendee record is a record of all a particular Student's activities on a particular Course.
