Checking a Student's Competencies
The following shows an easy way to find out what training competencies a student has achieved and any that are past their expiration.
1. Search for the Student
The first step is to find the student in Salesforce. This can easily be done using the Salesforce global search bar.
You can search by the students name or any other details you have. Their email address, phone number, student number - anything will work!
2. Review the 'Student Competencies'
Make sure you are under the 'Related' tab and navigate to the 'Student Competencies' list.
The 'Student Competencies' list provides a complete and up-to-date summary of a student's competencies.
There will only be one version of each competency in the list. If the student completes that competency again a new student competency record will not be created, rather the existing one updated with the new achievement and expiration dates.
If a student has more than 6 competencies you will not be able to see all of them from the list. Use the 'View All' link to show a complete list.
From this list you can access all the information you need to inform a student of which competencies they have. You even have a link to the 'Originating Course' - this is the course the student completed to obtain each competency and will give a great indication of what qualification they might want to re-do.
The 'Status' field provides a quick way of reviewing whether the student is still competent. It will be green if the student is competent and will automatically change to red once the 'Competency Expiration Date' passes.
